Demonica Weekend Wrap Up!

When you conceive the concept for a movie you then turn to fleshing out the idea and working on a script. From there you convince some crazy people to start working on the project by getting props, auditioning actors and finding locations. This can be a pretty stressful time but preproduction has to end sometime. At some point you have to stop the preparation and actually make a movie and that is exactly what we did this weekend!

Well, not all of it. Not by far. But we did have a great weekend shooting 16 out of 99 scenes or about 19 pages of the script. That’s actually quite a bit and I have the back pain and lack of sleep to prove it. We started out Friday afternoon shooting interiors before moving outside until a little after 2 am. Saturday we pulled an all night marathon of filming for 16 hours straight at our roller rink location with our first makeup effects of the film.

All in all it was a great weekend and we’ll have some behind the scenes pictures coming soon to show you but first a lot of us have to catch up on sleep. Thanks to all of the PF’ers new and old that helped out and will continue to see this project through. It will only get harder from here but I couldn’t ask for a better group to be making this film with.

Neal and Evan Runkel

I would like to single (or double) out two individuals who really made this weekend happen. Our two master grips Neal and Evan Runkel. This father son duo really pulled out all the stops and certainly made my life a lot easier and my job as assistant director possible. Behind the scenes these two were instrumental in making sure we made our weekend. They did everything from helping me set lights to slating scenes to ensuring a lot of our electric and lighting equipment even worked. For that I want to thank the two of them and I look forward to continuing to work with them through out the shoot. Thanks Neal and Evan.
